Krishnagiri: The tipsy father who tried to rape his daughter first killed his wife for her threat to expose his wrong-doing and then the girl for not accepting his wish.
The double murder happened in the early hours of Tuesday in the house of 38-year-old truck driver Seshadhari of Anchetti in Denkannikottai taluk of Krishnagiri.
Police said Seshadhari's 34-year-old wife Kumutha, mother of three girl children, was disturbed in sleep because of her 14-year-old elder daughter Sakunthala who cried for help.
When questioned the girl told her mother about Seshadhari who tried to mute and rape the girl sleeping alone in a separate room of the house.
The woman shouted at her husband and also threatened to expose his shameless act to villagers. Seshadhari afraid of his wife's threat beat her up before killing her.
He then killed his daughter. Two of her younger sisters who witnessed the horrific murder, escaped from the house and were saved by their neighbours.
Anchetti police recovered the bodies of the victims and sent them to Denkannikottai government hospital mortuary for autopsy. Seshadhari was also arrested for the murders.
