Bengaluru: Divorcee claims rape by 4 for 4 days

According to her complaint, she had gone to a pub in Koramangala along with a friend, identified as Rakesh, on March 29 evening.

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old divorcee has filed a rape and molestation case with the Koramangala police against four people. The complainant, who left to her hometown after filing the complaint, is reportedly not giving any information to the police, making it difficult for them to trace the accused.

The woman, who hails from Kolkata, was earlier living in Bengaluru with her husband. Two years ago, she had moved to Kolkata after a divorce. She had come back to the city just ten days before the incident, in search of a job.

According to her complaint, she had gone to a pub in Koramangala along with a friend, identified as Rakesh, on March 29 evening. Later, Rakesh took her to a house, where he allegedly raped her in the early hours of March 30. On the same day, she was allegedly molested in a car by a driver, identified as Rajappa. Again on April 10, one Narasimhaiah and another car driver allegedly molested her. Police said the woman filed the complaint on April 11 before leaving for her hometown. “She is not providing details and she claimed that she was molested in a car, but not giving the registration number of the car. Also, she is not giving much details about Rakesh, who allegedly raped her. Moreover, she was not willing to undergo medical test and has left the city. She is not cooperating, making it difficult to crack the case. However, we are analysing CCTV footage to get clues about the accused,” a police source said. Meanwhile, the police, who contacted her parents, have learnt that the woman was mentally disturbed and availing treatment for the same. “As of now, we do not know whether her allegations are true. We are waiting for her to recover and then we will try to speak to her,” another official said.

Man found dead
A 38-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his house in Nayandahalli on Sunday night. The incident came to light only on Monday when his wife Pavitra, alias Vanita, informed about the incident to his relatives.

The deceased has been identified as Jagadish, a worker at a plastic factory. According to Chandra Layout police, Jagadish died on Sunday and his cause of death is yet to be ascertained. They said the incident came to light on Monday when Pavitra hired an ambulance to take the body to Jagadish’s hometown in Mandya district. “Pavitra kept Jagadish’s death secret until she boarded the ambulance along with the body. She informed Jagadish’s relatives about his death on the way to Mandya. They grew suspicious and brought the body in the same ambulance to Bengaluru. Jagadish’s cousin D.K. Suresh approached Chandra Layout police and lodged a complaint. Jagadish’s family members suspect that Pavitra might have killed him and suppressed the information for a day. However, Pavitra told police that she had sprayed termiticides at the house and that Jagadish might have accidentally inhaled it.
