Bengaluru: Bank manager commits suicide

Vasanth Kumar, who was from Andhra Pradesh, was transferred to the K.G. Road branch a month ago.

BENGALURU: A 29-year-old assistant manager with Central Bank of India allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of his office building on K.G. Road early on Monday morning.

The Upparpet police said that the manager, Vasanth Kumar, who was from Andhra Pradesh, was transferred to the K.G. Road branch a month ago.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Vasanth came to the bank around 6.30 am on Monday and reportedly asked the security guard to open the door, saying he had some work. The security guard heard a loud thud at around 8 in the morning and found Vasanth lying in a pool of blood.

The guard with the help of a few local residents rushed Vasanth to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said. No suicide note was found and the police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.
