Hyderabad: Commissioner’s Task Force team arrested 14 people, all of them astrologers, for gambling in the open in Musheerabad.
The police was informed about the gamblers gathering at the spot everyday.
During the raid, police recovered Rs 45,750, playing cards and 11 cell phones from their possession.
According to police, the astrologers gathered under the leadership of P. Kondaiah and were playing the three card game. “They are small-time astrologers and they would get together at this place to play the three card game. We got a tip off, based on which we raided the place,” said a senior official from the task force.
“They live in Bapujinagar, and work in the morning. Afternoons, they go home and then start playing creating nuisance in the area,” said the official
The raid was conducted under the supervision of B. Limba Reddy, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force.
All of the suspects were handed over to Musheerabad police for further action.
