TIRUPATI: The Sapthagiri Rural Bank at Raghavendranagar was locked by the landlord, Mr Raja Chowdary, on Wednesday for more than an hour. Speaking to mediapersons Mr Chowdary said, “The bank has to pay lakhs of rupees as rent. I have even approached the RBI several times, but they had not responded. Without paying rent, the bank is being shifted to another building, so I locked it.” This is the second time that Mr Chowdary has locked the bank over the last few days. He allowed the bank to function after getting an assurance from the staff.
