Hyderabad: Cops register case against DRS International School principal

Parents alleged that the principal was humiliating students.

Hyderabad: The Petbasheerabad police registered a case against principal Gaurav Maurya of DRS International School, Medchal for allegedly harassing students.

A parent alleged that Mr Maurya had told students that he would not promote them to the next class if they did not get 80 per cent marks. Police is investigating. The school authorities were not available to comment.

Parents alleged that the principal was humiliating students. They claimed that he often called them useless and that they would fail in the exams. Whenever parents went to the school to meet him, they are made to wait for hours together.”

“All students make noise in the class, but we do not know why only our child is targeted. Every time he speaks, he demoralising her, due to which she is very depressed,” said the parent of a Class XII student said.

Based on her complaint, police registered a case under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act for subjecting children to cruelty. The case is under investigation. AP Balala Hakkula Sangham demanded strict action on the principal.
