Hyderabad: Mall burgled, cameras damaged

Hyderabad: In a major heist at the recently opened Anutex shopping mall in Kothapet thieves broke open cash counters and fled with Rs 9.58 lakh.

Police said the thieves entered the mall through an opening meant for an exhaust fan.

The staff had closed the showroom on Sunday night after 11 and opened it on Sunday at around 9.30 am. When they enter-ed the mall they found something fishy and checked the cash counters, but they were broken and the cash was missing.

The mall which was opened a month ago was under total video surveillance with over 70 CCTV cameras covering all the four floors.

Police questioned the 250 employees working in different shifts but nothing suspicious was found.

Police said they are working on other clues to track down the suspects. Based on a complaint from manager Shekar of Anutex mall a case of burglary and trespass was registered.
