The incident took place on July 10 when the victim, a class sixth student at a government school, was heading home after finishing school.

Bengaluru: Ramamurthy Nagar police have taken into their custody four minor boys who allegedly molested an 11-year-old girl after taking her to an isolated place in Vijinapura.

While two of the four boys are confirmed minors, the police are trying to ascertain the age of the other two.

The incident took place on July 10 when the victim, a class sixth student at a government school, was heading home after finishing school.

However, it came to light only on Friday when police detained four boys for an inquiry. They were later sent to the State Boys Home.

On the fateful day at around 5 pm, the suspects, who were lying in wait for the girl, took the victim to an isolated place.

The prime suspect in the case professed his love for her, which she blatantly rejected. He then reportedly kissed the victim.

An enraged victim slapped the prime suspect, following which all others too assaulted her and fled.

Police sources said the suspects were aged between 14 and 16 years and studying in a government school in Ramamurthy Nagar. The police have booked the accused under the POCSO Act.

“While the two boys are confirmed minors, we are yet to ascertain the age of other two. We are verifying their school documents,” the police said.

The incident came to the notice of the victim's mother after the girl narrated the story after reaching home. The victim’s mother then approached the police and lodged a complaint.
