Hyderabad: 3 held for cheating, Rs 11.5 lakh seized

The accused enrolled a few hundred persons as members and collected up to Rs 40 lakh from them over a period of eight months.

HYDERABAD: The Shalibanda police on Wednesday arrested three persons who allegedly duped the public to the tune of '40 lakh on the pretext of offering cars and motorcycles in a lottery. The police recovered '11.50 lakh from the accused along with a computer and other articles.

According to Mr Syed Fayaz, ACP Falaknuma, the accused persons —Khaleel Bin Aqeel, 39, Mohd Azam Khan, 42 and Mohd Nazeer Hussain had set up one “KGN Enterprises”, in Phool Bagh of Shalibanda area.

The accused enrolled a few hundred persons as members and collected up to Rs 40 lakh from them over a period of eight months. However, one of the members who found out that the trio was cheating complained to the police. After registration of a case, the police arrested the trio and recovered the property.
