Hyderabad: Tiffin centre staff beat up three customers

The injured customers were identified as Ashish, Kiran and Mohan, police said, adding that the incident took place at Habib Tiffin centres.

Hyderabad: Three men were allegedly beaten up by a tiffin centre owner late on Tuesday night in Chaderghat.

According to the police, the trio had asked him to hurry up with their order, which allegedly irked the owner, who picked up an argument and eventually beat them up with a rod.

The injured customers were identified as Ashish, Kiran and Mohan, police said, adding that the incident took place at Habib Tiffin centres.

There were seven employees of Habib Tiffin centre, who indulged in a fight with the trio following a minor argument.

The employees then themselves lodged a complaint against the customers with Chaderghat police, following which an investigation was started, said V. Satyanarayana, DCP South Zone.

“During investigation it came to light that after going through the CCTV footage from the place, the employees ganged up against the customers and made a fuss. We have received a counter complaint from the three men as well against the employees,” said the official, adding that the tiffin centre has been under the police’s radar for several other reasons as well.

“The place is said to be illegally encroaching on the footpath and is also being kept open round-the-clock,” added the official.

“We will be proceeding with the case according to the evidence gathered and will be placing the men under arrest accordingly,” concluded the police officials.
