Hyderabad: Man held for kidnap attempt

The girls approached the police and based on technical evidence, cops arrested Lingareddy.

Hyderabad: A physical education trainer working for a private school at Choutuppal under Rachakonda Police Commissionerate was arrested on Sunday on charges of attempting to kidnap two girls, who had come to town to appear for their TS Physical Education Common Entrance Test.

The suspect has been identified as Borem Lingareddy. According to the police, the victims hailing from Nizamabad had come to town to attend the entrance exam at Dr Musku Madhusudan Reddy BP Ed college at Tangadapalli village. At around 10 pm on Friday night, they got down at Choutuppal bus stand and called a person at the examination centre. He informed them that one Mr Sunil Kumar will come to pick them up. Choutuppal inspector A. Venkataiah said, “While the girls were waiting, the suspect approached them and introduced himself as Sunil Kumar. After they boarding the vehicle, when the girls tried calling Mr Kumar, Lingareddy snatched their mobiles and switched them off. However, when they raised an alarm, he dropped them off on the city outskirts and sped away. The girls approached the police and based on technical evidence, cops arrested Lingareddy.
