Hyderabad: Shopkeeper stones dog to death

Hyderabad: In less than two days, another case of brutality towards animals has been reported from the city.

Earlier this week, a watchman was accused on setting puppies on fire and on Friday, a shopkeeper has been accused of stoning a stray dog to death.

Rajeev Choudhary, of Sainikpuri, is believed to have chased and killed the animal with help of some locals.

Dog beaten to death was violent: Attacker
An FIR was issued by the Kushaiguda police station and a case booked under Sections 11 (1) a and I of the PCA Act, 1960, as well as IPC 429.

The complainant D. Joshi, a member of People for Animals, said, “The store owner, Rajeev Choudhary, gathered together some people, chased the brown coloured male dog and beat him in a cruel manner, at about 3 pm, on January 18.”

The dog was being treated but died. Choudhary claimed that it was the violent behaviour of the dog that led to the incident. “The said dog was beaten by unknown people. It has bitten three or four boys who were injured.”
