Trio arrested for posing as KT Ramarao's relatives

According to the police, a few youngsters had paid Rs 1.5 lakh each to be recruited to work at Growic Technologies in Khajaguda.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Tuesday arrested three men for claiming to be relatives of IT minister K.T. Ramarao, threatening the owners of a firm, and extorting money from them. The accused have been identified as M. Vamsi Krishna Rao (27), Vamshidhar, and Rahul. A car bearing a blue beacon and a VIP sticker was seized from their possession.

According to the police, a few youngsters had paid Rs 1.5 lakh each to be recruited to work at Growic Technologies in Khajaguda. Within a week of payment, they realised that the company was committing fraudulent transactions and that their appointments were fake. They demanded the return of their money.

“Meanwhile, Vamsi colluded with Vamshidhar, who was working as a project director in the firm, to hatch a plan to take over the company,” said Vishwa Prasad, the DCP of Madhapur.

The two of them, along with Rahul, informed employees that they had taken over the company and that they would be paying their salaries. .

They also threatened the staff of the Raikal Toll Plaza on the Rajiv Rahadari Highway when asked to pay toll charges and claimed to be part of the Chief Minister’s security detail.

The police arrested the trio and also seized their car and the weapon.
