Telangana techie arrested for duping bizman

Based on clues, the suspect, M. Harsha Vardhan, was arrested from Gudur and produced in court.

Hyderabad: The Telangana CID has arrested an online fraudster hailing from AP, who cheated a businessman of Rs 10 lakh by offering him a hassle-free loan. The suspect, Malepati Harsha Vardhan, hails from Nellore district and was working in Chennai.

Police said that in January 2015 the suspect identifying himself as Sunnybaina Praveen Kumar, called the victim and offered hassle-free loans of up to Rs 1 crore.

He used to ask his victims to deposit Rs 20,000 in his account to start the loan process. In the last three years the victim deposited around Rs 10 lakh in the suspect’s account for various charges but there was no response from the suspect and later his phone was found switched off.

The victim lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad city police and a case was registered. The case was later transferred to CID Cyber Crimes cell. Based on clues, the suspect, M. Harsha Vardhan, was arrested from Gudur and produced in court.
