Hyderabad: Another drug racket busted, 9 held

In the first case, six persons including the foreign nationals were apprehended from Banjara Hills, Mr Limba Reddy said.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police busted a major drug racket by arresting nine persons including two African nationals and seized high-end narcotics like cocaine, LSD and MDMA from their possession in two separate cases.

Task Force deputy commissioner of police B. Limba Reddy said 300 grams cocaine, 42 grams of MDMA, 27 LSD blots, a car and an airgun had been seized from them.

In the first case, six persons including the foreign nationals were apprehended from Banjara Hills, Mr Limba Reddy said.

These included the Nigerian identified as Chika Ohycowusi, who has a cloth business in Goa and South African national Lucky Bongani, a student, who resides in Manikonda here. Others arrested were identified as N. Raghu, Abhinav Mahender, V. Mallikarjun Rao of Hyderabad and Christopher H.H. Gidd-ens, who is into real estate in Bengaluru, he said.

“They visited different pubs and hotels in Goa, Mumbai and Hyderabad where they befriended customers and sold cocaine to them at higher price,” the DCP said.

Police said that the main accused Raghu Vamsh-idhar had met other drug peddlers in Gokarna, Karnataka. Giddens introduced him to some persons to buy LSD stamps and charas from. He brought those drugs to Hyderabad, the DCP said.

In another case, three persons — P. Revanth, Irf-an Najeeb Khan and Zain Khan — were nabbed from Masab Tank on the cha-rges of possession and selling narcotics.The Task Force handed over the accused and the seized material to local police stations for further formalities.
