Hyderabad: The Saidabad police on Monday arrested three men posing as TV news journalists and district medical officials and extorting money from a city hospital. Police said the accused were demanding money from a nursing home in Singareni Colony by threatening to “telecast the illegal activities” taking place there.
The arrested were identified as R. Sandeep Kumar, a compounder D. Anil and lab technician G. Balakishan alias Balu, who worked in the same nursing home. According to the police, the trio went there in the guise of employees of a news channel and health officials and demanded Rs 1 crore for not telecasting a report on the activities.
