11 arrested with 175 kg of ganja in Hyderabad

The arrested accused were identified as Guguloth Veerabhadram,

Hyderabad: South Zone Police arrested 11 men for transporting ganja in the city and seized 175 kgs of the contraband along with two cars, all worth ' 25 lakh, from them on Saturday.

The arrested accused were identified as Guguloth Veerabhadram, 48, Nallabothula Naresh Kumar, 29, Thota Trinadh, 33, SK Nazeer Basha, 26, and Neel Kamal Biswas, 23 with six others, said the Police.

“The prime accused, Guguloth Veerabhadram, a native of Dharmaram village of Mahabubabad district is presently residing at Hayathnagar along with his wife and two sons. In the year 2012, he and his associate Kanthaiah were first arrested by Osmania University P.S for transporting Ganja from Sileru to Hyderabad. While in Jail, he developed contacts with other inmates who were into Ganja business. and after coming out on bail, he started business with his them. In the month of August, 2016 he was arrested by Mothugudem Police of East Godavari Dist in two cases for transporting Ganja from Sileru to Hyderabad.

He was then released on bail in the month of January and during this period, he was lodged at Rajahmundry Central Prison. At that time there were about 500 prisoners who were into Ganja smuggling with whom he exchanged his phone number” Additional DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, S. Chaitanya Kumar.
After coming out on bail, he started contacting the suppliers and in the first week of February, one Naresh of Sattenapalli supplied him 40 kg Ganja. He transported the same in his car to Salabatpur, near Shirdi during midnight and sold to one Kate Mama. Meantime he contacted Nilkamal Biswas of Malkangiri for Ganja.

“The lot has ganged up into a team and were in this business as it is highly lucrative and yields huge profits within short period. Veerabhadram with his contacts is supplying Ganja in Hyderabad and Maharashtra” added the official.

The apprehended offenders, along with recovered property, were handed over to the Kanchanbagh Police for taking further action against him.
