Hyderabad: SCR official gets 3 years rigorous imprisonment for bribery

The CBI said the case was registered against accounts assistant Devadas Menon on June 23, 2011 for demanding a bribe of Rs 2,000.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Principal Special Judge for CBI cases convicted a SCR official on Tuesday for accepting a bribe.
The CBI said SCR accounts assistant Devadas Menon was sentenced to undergo three years RI for criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and falsification of accounts. The court ordered the convict to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for each charge and in case of failure, to to undergo simple imprisonment of one month. The total amount was calculated as Rs 60,000.
The CBI said the case was registered against accounts assistant Devadas Menon on June 23, 2011 for demanding a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a complainant for issuing an appointment letter for the post of park attender.
