Five nabbed for smuggling narcotic drugs in Hyderabad

Two others, who were with these people, had just left and crossed the toll gate. Police arrested them too.

Hyderabad: Five men were arrested for allegedly smuggling narcotic drugs near Gachibowli.

The suspects had brought LSD, Ecstasy, and hashish from Goa and were planning to sell it when the Special Operations Team of the Cyberabad police nabbed them.

Police suspect the peddlers had earned a lot of money by selling drugs in Hyderabad. Suspected customers include techies.

At around 4 am, based on a tip off, a police team followed a jeep carrying three people on Outer Ring Road. Police stopped them on the approach road to the financial district and searched the vehicle.

“We found 32 pills of Ecstasy, four grams of Hashish and 19 stamps of LSDs,” said an officer from SOT.

Two others, who were with these people, had just left and crossed the toll gate. Police arrested them too.

The arrested men are Mahesh Charan, 23, Mukesh Singh, 26, S. Shushruth, 25, Krishnakant, 26, and Madaya Rao, 25, all residents of Ameerpet and SR Nagar.

During the interrogation, police found that Mahesh Charan and Mukesh Singh had gone to Goa four days earlier and had purchased the drugs for Rs 50,000.
