Preliminary investigation reveals that while the man died nearly a week ago, the two women committed suicide by hanging.

Bengaluru: Panic gripped Muthyalanagar in Yeshwanthpur on Sunday after three decomposed bodies, two of them of women, were found at a house.

Preliminary investigation reveals that while the man died nearly a week ago, the two women committed suicide by hanging.

The incident took place four days ago and came to light on Saturday evening after the house owner experienced foul smell and alerted the police control room.

The deceased have been identified as Sheshapani (44), his wife Usha Nandini (42) and his mother Sudha Lakshmi (68). The family hailed from Andhra Pradesh and settled in the city several years ago.

The couple did not have children and Sheshapani's mother Lakshmi was staying with them.

Three of them were running a tailoring shop in SBM Colony near J.P. Park in Yeshwanthpur.

According to the police Sheshapani was ailing and died after falling from a chair.

Upset over his untimely death, his wife and mother committed suicide by hanging.

Yeshawanthpur police said that around 3.30 pm they got a call from house owner Naveen Kumar, who lives in the first floor.

The police rushed there and found three decomposed bodies in the hall. Sheshapani was reportedly suffering from some illness as his arms and legs were swollen. Of late his condition had deteriorated.

His wife Nandini and mother Lakshmi did not inform anyone about the death.

Instead they locked themselves from inside and committed suicide.

The decomposed bodies were shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for post-mortem.

Police said they may have committed suicide on Thursday.

The post-mortem report will reveal further details. No suicide note was found at the crime spot.

Nandini's cousin brother Suresh Babu, who lives in Rajagopalanagar, told police, "Sheshapani was suffering a lot from his illness for the last few months and Nandini was performing pooja for a goddess 'Amma' instead of providing proper treatment at a hospital. They did not listen to anyone’s advice.’

Yeshwanthpur police have registered a case.
