Hyderabad: A nine-year-old boy and his father have lodged a police complaint against the boy’s mother for torturing him by branding him on his genitals and making him drink the urine of her second husband.
Anusha, the mother, married the boy’s father 13 years ago and the family, which includes an older son, lived in Sangareddy. The couple didn’t get on and Anusha left her husband taking her two children, aged 11 and 9, with her. She filed for divorce and married another person.
The younger son did not want to stay with his mother and insisted on living with his father. Angry with his insistence, the boy told police his mother abused him and forced him to drink the other man’s urine filled in a bottle.
Torture made boy run away
Anusha, the mother of the boy, had married another person, Ashok Reddy, a private financier, five months ago. They lived in a rented house in Bachupally, but moved to Shapur on March 7 after a quarrel with neighbours.
Both children, who were born out of her first marriage, have been out of school for the past five months — since she married Ashok Reddy.
Jeedimetla SI Lingya Naik said that the mother would “beat him frequently and also branded him on his genitals with a hot iron rod and injured him. They did not harm the elder son as he obeyed her.” Unable to bear the torture, the younger child ran away from home and went to his father.
The father and son lodged a complaint on Thursday. Anusha and Ashok Reddy have been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act. The police are looking for them as they have locked their house and disappeared.
