Hyderabad: Troubled by the constant and relentless harassment from her alcoholic husband, a 40-year-old woman allegedly killed him with a stone on Thursday night.
Police said Sujatha hit Bikshapathi with a boulder — killing him late on Thursday night. Later on Friday morning, she surrendered before police authorities.
Police reports said that G. Bikshapathi 45, a private employee and G. Sujatha, a homemaker are residents of Lemur village under the Kandukur police station limits.
They got married 20 years ago and have two sons and a daughter. It has been revealed that Bikshapathi was addicted to alcohol and the couple had frequent arguments at home,
On Thursday night, Bikshapathi came home heavily drunk and picked up an argument with his wife, leading to an intense fight.
“We do believe the couple fought till midnight on Thursday. Bikshapathi first tried to attack Sujatha with a boulder but she escaped, and he tripped and fell down.
“Seeing her chance, Sujatha picked up the same boulder and hit Bikshapathi on his head with it,”
S. Chennakesava Raju, Sub Inspector Kandukur said. As her husband lay there in a pool of blood, Sujatha assumed he was unconscious and slept off. In the morning when she woke up, she found out that he was actually dead.
She later approached the police and surrendered, officials said. A murder case has been registered and the body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Police is investigating the case.
