Bachupally: Chain snatchers were riding KTM

Investigation officials said the thieves covered their faces with white cloth.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police investigating a chain-snatching reported at Bachupally two days ago found that the thieves were riding a KTM Duke motorcycle without registration plates. The two wheeler had red wheels.

After analysing CCTV footage, police suspects that the duo could be habitual offenders.

Investigation officials said that the snatchers had covered their faces with white cloth. Since the incident happened at night, the images were not clear.

“After examining their style of operation, we suspect that they are habitual offenders and had entered the city from the Sangareddy side, like other snatchers who were arrested in the recent past,” a police officer said.

He said the duo, after snatching the chain, fled towards Gandimaisamma.

The duo had snatched the 2.5-tola gold chain of homemaker Anjali who was walking back home at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. She told the police that the rider was wearing a blue shirt and the pillion rider a dark coloured shirt.
