Hyderabad: Unable to bear the physical harassment from her husband, a chronic HIV and TB patient, killed her husband with the help of her paramour and dumped the body on the city outskirts. The police who recovered the body have unearthed the facts and arrested the duo on Thursday.
On November 11, the decomposed body of a man was found in the bushes by the road at Ankireddypally in Keesara. There were injuries on his head and he had a cloth was tied to his neck.
The police collected CCTV footage of cameras in which they found a mini-van at Radhika crossroads and Chirala crossroads, but its number was not visible in the footage.
The videos were then sent to the IT team of Rachakonda, who enhanced it and found the vehicle number as AP 13 P 9614. The owner of the vehicle was then traced, but he told that he had sold it to another person, who uses the vehicle for delivery of goods belonging to Shiva Shakti Enterprises.
On careful examination of the footage at the company and call verification of the records, it was revealed that V.V. Ramakrishna took the vehicle on November 1, has been identified as the accused.
Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that Ramakrishna, 21, a resident of Neredmet was having an extramarital affair with his distant relative, T. Lavanya, 22, wife of T. Durga Prasad, 40, a driver.
The commissioner said that Durga Prasad, was already married to another woman and concealed this marriage to Lavanya and was already suffering from chronic Tuberculosis and HIV before marriage.
“For the last five years, Lavanya and Ramakrishna were having an affair. When she got pregnant, he was the one who attended to her as her husband was not available,” said the commissioner.
She later found that her husband was affected with HIV and maintained a distance, But Prasad was harassing her for sex. Last month, Ramakrishna helped the couple move to RK Puram and he used to meet Lavanya in her husband’s absence. On November 31, Prasad caught them and a heated argument broke out. Lavanya picked up an iron pipe and hit her husband on the head in a fit of anger,” the commissioner added.
The duo then wrapped the body in a bedsheet and disposed it the next morning on the city outskirts. The duo has been arrested and produced in court for further action.
