Hyderabad: Inter-state offender held for extortion

According to the police, after the marriage, she worked for Mr Joel Father, who runs old age homes in the country.

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old notorious interstate conwoman, who had duped the public under the pretext of rice and meat export business and overseas job racket, was arrested by the Rachakonda police in Jawaharnagar on Tuesday.

The police said that the suspect, Tatiparti Sheeba Rani, is the daughter of an army veteran. She married Daniel from Warangal who was a bike mechanic.

According to the police, after the marriage, she worked for Mr Joel Father, who runs old age homes in the country.

She also visited the US, Germany, France, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia and other countries as part of the job. She later came to know about a manpower consultancy which was sending job seekers abroad. In 2006, she duped nurses in the Saifabad area and collected money from them. Later, she has also started a rice and meat export business in the name of Sheeba Enterprises.

“Under the pretext of sending youths abroad for jobs and rice and meat export, she cheated people and collected '1.03 crore from 2008 till date,” said Mr Tarun Joshi, joint commissioner, Rachakonda police.

Recently, she duped a retired jailor to the tune of '45 lakh in the name of meat business.

“Sheeba Rani is involved in four cases in Jawaharnagar, one each in Nalgonda district, Guntur district and Banjara Hills,” added Mr Joshi. She has been sent to judicial remand.
