Hyderabad: Police sub-inspector breaks into house, held for attempt to theft

HYDERABAD: A sub-inspector was arrested for attempt to theft in Almasguda under Meerpet police station limits on Friday. He was later released on bail.

Sub-inspector J. Mahender Reddy, posted with the Central Crime Station, Hyderabad, was deputed to the special investigation team probing the encounter in which terror suspect Viqaruddin was killed.

On Thursday midnight, Mr M. Shiva Prasad, a businessman from Almasguda, returned home from vacation along with his mother. When he entered the house, he found the window grill near the main door removed and articles in the house scattered.

“He saw Mahender Reddy coming out of a bathroom in the house,” Meerpet inspector N. Ch. Rangaswamy said. The police registered a case and arrested Mahender Reddy.
