Hyderabad: An auto driver was arrested for manhandling a 65-year-old woman passenger at Amangal on Tuesday night. The accused, Nenavath Naresh, a resident of Medigadda, was approaching Amangal with the woman, V. Somli, on Tuesday night, the police said.
“She boarded the auto at Meddigadda and was going towards Amangal on Tuesday night. However, when the vehicle reached a secluded area, he stopped the auto and attacked her,” said the police.
“The lady escaped from his clutches and fled the scene and approached us on Wednesday,” added the police.
Based on a complaint from the victim, a case was booked against the driver under Section 354 of IPC. He was sent to judicial remand.
