Hyderabad: An inspector working with the Telangana state police, a government teacher and two others were convicted in a cheating case and a criminal breach of trust was registered against them in 2009.
After the court suspended the conviction for one month, the inspector was transferred and attached to the police control room by Hyderabad commissioner of police Anjani Kumar.
In 2009, one J. Srinu purchased a piece of land at Kakatiyanagar using forged documents and sold it illegally.
Srinu had then complained to the Neredmet police and a case was registered (Cr.No 368/2009) under Sections 420 and 406 r/w 34 of IPC. During the investigation, the police found the role of another two persons a government teacher and a police inspector who was then working at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
The probe had revealed that S Srinivas Goud had reportedly created a fake document on a 300 sq yards land at Kakatiya Nagar claiming ownership and then made a GPA in the name of Janardhan and Chitra of Mahabubnagar. Further, with the help of his friend Kongali Balraj, a government teacher from Jadcherla, he planned to sell the land to Srinu.
The case was further charge-sheeted in a local court which gave a judgement convicting the accused persons. Janardhan, Chitra and Balraj were convicted and directed to undergo imprisonment for a period of three years and pay Rs 10,000 each towards penalty, while inspector Srinivas was convicted with three years of imprisonment and had to pay Rs 8,000 towards penalty.
Neredmet inspector A Narsimha Swamy said, “The court had initially convicted the four accused persons. Later, it suspended the conviction orders for a period of one month for the inspector, while the other three have been imprisoned.”
Following the conviction orders, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar issued orders transferring Srinivas, who was working as inspector of Mirchowk police station, posting him at the police control room on Saturday. The additional inspector of Mirchowk was asked to take charge.
