Hyderabad: An obscene picture was posted on the official WhatsApp group of the city’s corporators. Posted from the phone number of Vengal Rao Nagar TRS corporator Kilari Manohar, the picture quickly went viral. The picture was posted on several other groups in which the corporator is a member. No complaint has been filed with the police. “Many people were surprised with the post. My colleagues called up Manohar and informed him, he did not know about it,” said a woman corporator.
After being asked about the picture, the corporator posted an apology. “Very sorry, the picture was posted by my driver. He has been dismissed from duty, the act was done out of grudge. My phone was operated by him, I am extremely sorry (sic),” the corporator posted on the group. When this correspondent tried to reach the corporator, his phone was “out of reach”. In 2016, a nude photo of actor Sunny Leone popped up on the official website and several linked pages of the GHMC. The picture first appeared on the GHMC’s off-site real-time monitoring system, which tracks the movement of garbage trucks in the city.
