Bengaluru: Biker hit by lorry, dies

The police also said that the deceased was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.

Bengaluru: A 20-year-old bike-borne man died on the spot after his bike collided head-on with a lorry on Uttarahalli main road off Mysore Road in Kengeri traffic police station limits on Wednesday morning.The deceased has been identified as Tejasvi Gowda, a resident of Banashankari. The incident, according to police, happened at around 8.30 am when Gowda on his way to meet a relative in Kodipalya in Kengeri. Tejasvi was a delivery boy working for Swiggy, an online food ordering and delivery company. According to police, the lorry which hit Tejasvi’s bike was being driven in a rash manner. The deceased sustained grievous injuries to his chest and limbs in the accident. Passers-by rushed him to BGS Global Hospital where he was declared brought dead. His body was later shifted to Rajarajeshwari Hospital for postmortem. Kengeri traffic police who have registered a case have seized the lorry and have arrested the driver Sudhakar. The police also said that the deceased was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred. TV channels blame pothole: A few electronic media channels announced that the death was due to a pothole. However, the police officials clarified that it was due to rash driving.
