Hyderabad: Man booked for abetting woman’s suicide

Sathish, who was reportedly drunk, abused them.

Hyderabad: Feeling humiliated after being accused of having an extramarital relationship by her husband’s friend, a woman committed suicide by hanging at her house in KPHB in the early hours of Monday.

Along with her techie husband, she went to the house of the friend to collect loan repayment when she was humiliated by the latter, said police who booked a case for a probe.

According to KPHB police, Medikonda Prudvi Ganesh, 36, a software engineer, along with his wife Krishnaveni, 31, natives of West Godavari, were staying at Dharma Reddy Colony. Ganesh had lent `9 lakh to his friend V. Sathish of Jaggaiahpet.

Ganesh and Krishnaveni and a friend, Balaji, went to collect the money from Satish on Saturday.

Sathish, who was reportedly drunk, abused them. Later too Sathish went to Ganesh’s house, picked up a quarrel with him and broke his mobile. When Krishnaveni intervened, he used abusive language and told her that he had her private pictures with others and would publicise them. Feeling humiliated, Krishnaveni committed suicide on Monday, when her husband was asleep. Based on a complaint from Ganesh, a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Sathish for investigation.
