Kodanad case: 2 accused nabbed in Kerala

The arrested duo was then taken to Coimbatore Central jail.

OOTY: In a new development, two of the four accused against whom arrest warrant was issued by the District Court here were nabbed by a special police team from here, in Kerala on Sunday evening.

It may be recalled that the District Court here while cancelling the bail of Sayan and Valayar Manoj, the accused in the Kodanad estate break-in-cum-murder case who linked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami into the incident, had issued arrest warrant against these two on Friday, as the duo failed to be present in court on Friday when the court pronounced orders on bail cancellation.

This apart, the court also issued arrest warrant against Dhipu and Bijin, the other two accused in this case who failed to be present in court during the regular hearing of the case on Friday.

The SP of Nilgiris district, T. Shanmughapriya, said that the police team from Kotagiri arrested Dhipu and Bijin in Thrissur limits in Kerala and the two would most likely be produced in the Ooty court either on Sunday night or on Monday morning. Search for the other two accused in the case, who are still said to be at large, is continuing, the official added. Dhipu and Bijin, were later produced before Senthilkumar Rajavel, the Judicial Magistrate at Ooty by around 9.15 pm on Sunday evening. The Magistrate remanded them to judicial custody. The arrested duo was then taken to Coimbatore Central jail.
