BENGALURU: A 41-year-old real estate agent was allegedly stabbed by his friend over a financial row in Jayanagar 5th Block in the early hours of Wednesday.

The victim, Dhanpal, who stays in a rented house in Jayanagar 5th Block, runs a real estate business. On Tuesday night, his friend Pradip, also a real estate agent, came to his house to discuss some business issues. As it was too late, Dhanpal asked Pradip to sleep at his place and leave in the morning.

Pradip got up around 3 am, took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Dhanpal in the stomach. Dhanpal woke up immediately, pushed Pradip and started screaming for help.

The neighbours, who rushed to his help, saw Pradip fleeing. They went in and saw Dhanpal lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a nearby private hospital.
He is said to be out of danger, the police said.

Dhanpal and Pradip were good friends, but a few months ago they fought over financial issues and had developed differences. Recently, they started talking again and were in good terms.

On Tuesday night, they again started arguing about financial issues which led to the stabbing incident, the police said. The police have launched a manhunt for Pradip.
