Hyderabad: A 39-year-old man looted at least half a dozen doctors by faking his own death and blackmailing them. Md. Sadiq alias Sajid, a truck driver from Kishangunj, used to consult doctors and take medicines from them. After a few days, he used to pretend to be a police officer, call the doctors and tell them that the patient had died because of the medicines.
He used to ask doctors to pay money in order to avoid backlash from locals and family. The Musheerabad police arrested the suspect on Tuesday. Police said that Sadiq pulled of each act with elaborate planning. “He used to leave the city and call doctors from different phone numbers. He also used to give a fake address to doctors so that they do not enquire about his death in the locality,” said an official from Musheerabad. The suspect used to give the bank account number of his sister and collect money from doctors. Police booked six cases against him following complaints from doctors.
