Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student who allegedly harassed his childhood friend forcing her to accept his proposal was arrested by Jubilee Hills police. Police said Abhishek threatened the victim if she did not accept his proposal.
According to police R Abhishek, 19, studying engineering second year in a reputed engineering college, knew the 19-year-old degree student, hailing from Yadagirinagar, from childhood.
A few months ago, Abhishek proposed to the girl, which she rejected. The youth continued to pressurise her to accept his proposal, but when she refused, he started harassing her. He used to call her regularly.
“For the past few days he started threatening her of dire consequences if she did not accept the proposal. The girl told her parents who approach-ed the police.” investigating officials said.
Based on the complaint a case of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and under charges of Criminal amendment act 2013 was registered against Abhishek. Police arrested him and sent to remand. The case is under investigation.
