Hyderabad: Sridhar Babu gets conditional bail

The judge directed Mr Sridhar Babu not to leave the country without permission of the court.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday granted conditional anticipatory bail to former minister D. Sridhar Babu in a case registered against him in Chikkadapally police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Justice Shameem Akhter, while dealing with a petition filed by Mr Sridhar Babu seeking anticipatory bail, directed that he should surrender before the police within 15 days and furnish two sureties of Rs10,000 each and police shall release him on bail.

The judge directed Mr Sridhar Babu not to leave the country without permission of the court and that he shall cooperate with the police and not threaten any witness. The judge directed that the police shall adhere to Section 438(2) of the CrPC while investigating the case and that Mr Sridhar Babu would have to appear before the investigation officer on the second Saturday of every month between 10 am and 11 am at the Chikkadapally police station till the filing of the chargesheet.
