Chennai: A 14-year-old boy died after he fell from the terrace of his apartment near Koyambedu on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as S Agasthiyan. He was playing cricket with his friends on the terrace of his apartment in SAF games village in Koyambedu when the incident happened.
Police sources said that the teenager attempted to catch a ball when he slipped over the parapet wall and fell from the fourth floor terrace. Alarmed friends of the boy alerted the elders and neighbours immediately and the boy was rushed to a private hospital nearby. Agasthiyan died without responding to treatment later in the night, police said.
CMBT police moved his body to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The boy’s father, Siva Shankaran is a central government employee. The deceased boy was studying class 9 at a private school in Anna Nagar, police said. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
