Andhra Pradesh: CBI probe demanded into suicide deaths

Ms Roja spoke to the mediapersons here on Saturday for the first time after the Nandyal bypolls.

Vijayawada: YSRC MLA R.K. Roja said minister Narayana was making fortune from the corpses of students and fumed at the state government for ignoring the matter even while the students were dying in a row by committing suicide.

Ms Roja spoke to the mediapersons here on Saturday for the first time after the Nandyal bypolls. She demanded a CBI probe into the suicides of the students.

She reminded that a girl student of Narayana College committed suicide in Kadapa on the hostel premises recently. She said the management tried to hush up the matter. In the last 3.5 years more than 30 students died on the premises of the colleges but no action has been taken, she said.

Ms Roja questioned if the chief minister is not initiating action and feigning ignorance because Mr Narayana is his benami.

She wondered why the education minister too was remaining silent on the issue. She said it might be because he is the kin of Mr Narayana. She questioned if the CM and Mr Rao would remain silent if the same situation arose for their kin. “The YSRC demands a CBI probe into suicide deaths in Narayana group of educational institutions.”
