An 18-year-old college girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming cow dung powder (pest) on Thursday near Sulur in suburbs of Coimbatore.
COIMBATORE: An 18-year-old college girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming cow dung powder (pest) on Thursday near Sulur in suburbs of Coimbatore. Police said the deceased, Kirupa, a first year B.Com student and daughter of a daily wage earner, took this impulsive step to consume dung powder as she was reportedly dejected over the humiliation faced due to eve-teasing.
Kirupa had fainted inside the house and was taken to nearby private hospital. After preliminary treatment she was shifted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Despite continuous treatment Kirups died without responding to the treatment. Sulur police have lodged a complaint and started further investigations.
