Chennai: Police detained two persons, who were found travelling in an auto rickshaw on Tambaram—Velachery Road with sickles early Tuesday morning after the two reportedly confessed that they were going to attack a person in Hasthinapuram.
The particular auto rickshaw attracted police attention as it was speeding along with a bike. Police intercepted both the vehicles suspecting that they were racing with each other. Enquiries revealed that they were heading towards Hastinapuram. “We picked up only those in the auto rickshaw because weapons were in that vehicle. Those on the bike claimed that they were students and we let them go after a strong warning,” the police said.
