Visakhapatnam: 10-member robbers gang arrested

Police also recovered Rs 41,000 cash and 32 mobile phones from them.

Visakhapatnam: New Port Police on Monday arrested a gang of 10 and apprehended two juveniles for their involvement in robbery cases at Yarada beach area in Vizag city. Police also recovered Rs 41,000 cash and 32 mobile phones from them. The main accused in the case is identified as K. Ashok, a history-sheeter.

On November 21, around four persons were returning from Yarada beach in a car. The 10-member gang on five bikes intercepted the vehicle and threatened them to give money. The gang has robbed Rs 60,000 cash, a gold chain and three mobile phones from them.

The cops got a clue from the victims that members in the gang were calling their leader Shiva. After almost two weeks of search, the New Port Police arrested all the accused. The police said that the gang used to threaten the love-birds and made off with gold ornaments and mobile phones.
