Bengaluru: A businessman has been accused of raping a widow after promising to marry her. The 39-year-old woman has filed a complaint with the Sanjaynagar police that the accused also had affair with several women and was blackmailing them by video recording their sexual act.
It is learnt that the woman has stated in her complaint that she was in a live-in relationship with one Pradeep Kumar, who hails from Gujarat and is settled in Bengaluru from several years.
After both fell in love with each other, they had reportedly started living together since 2010. They had physical relationship and when the woman asked him to marry her, he evaded the issue by providing lame excuses.
“She has alleged that Pradeep Kumar also had sexual relationship with a few other women and was blackmailing them with video recordings. He has also allegedly done the same with the complainant. She alleged that he had also raped her on several occasions. A few months ago, when the complainant asked him to marry her, he refused and allegedly told her she belonged to a lower caste. Now, the woman has filed a complaint after which the accused is absconding. We are on the lookout for him,” the Sanjaynagar police added.
