Bengaluru: Maid, accomplice held for theft at employer's house

According to the police, Sandeep Maini, a resident of Lavelle Road had filed a complaint regarding theft of valuables from his house.

Bengaluru: The Cubbon Park police have arrested a maid and her accomplice for stealing gold and silver articles from her employer’s house. The police have recovered valuables worth Rs 20 lakh from the two.

The accused have been identified as Geetha H., a resident of R T Nagar and her accomplice Manjunath alias Manju, 35.

According to the police, Sandeep Maini, a resident of Lavelle Road had filed a complaint regarding theft of valuables from his house.

He stated that Geetha was working at his house and taking care of his aged parents.

Geetha got to know the password of their safety locker and later used it to steal valuables in small quantities.

Recently, Sandeep noticed that many valuables and cash have gone missing from the locker and filed a complaint with Cubbon Park police.

The police immediately arrested her and Manjunath, who helped her to sell the stolen valuables.

The police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 8.72 lakh, silver articles worth Rs 36, 040 and Rs 8.85 lakh in cash from the accused.

The police said that the accused had spent Rs 1 lakh to buy various home appliances, which have been recovered from them.
