Video: Tamil rapper's humorous song creates awareness about pads and tampons

Talking about menstruation in India is still a taboo because of which many people have always faced issues because they cannot talk about it. A Tamil rapper has decided to speak about menstruation and about pads and tampons and it is really informative because she packs it with humour and sarcasm.

The Youtube video titled ‘Period Pattu’ has a typical musical performance setting with two musicians asking questions during the song. The performance is by Tamil rapper Sofia Ashraf who became popular after her rap ‘Kodaikanal Won’t’ about Hidustan Unilever poisoning the waters went viral two years ago. She also highlights the pros and cons of pads, tampons and cups during menstruation and women should attempt to still be eco-friendly while doing so.

The video has over 45,000 views and is making heads turn for all the right reasons and addressing an age-old taboo in a funny, sarcastic and informative way.
