Kollam: A first of its kind in the State, Yoga Association of Kerala will organise the State yoga championship 2017 at the New Hockey Stadium here on March 1 and 2. The event will have over 400 participants within the ages of 8 to 50 under five categories including Yogasana competition, Artistic yoga competition, Artistic pair yoga competition, rhythmic yoga competition, and free flow yoga dance competition.
Industries and sports minister A.C. Moideen will inaugurate the championship on Wednesday at a function presided over by MLA M. Mukesh. The contestants of the first ever Federation cup yoga national championship to be held in Thiruvananthapuram between March 24 and 26 will be selected from the State championship. The Yoga association of Kerala is affiliated to the Yoga federation of India and the Kerala state sports council.
