Don't mess with us: Naga Babu

Naga Babu lashes out at Sri Reddy for allegations against his brother Pawan Kalyan.

Pawan Kalyan brother, Naga Babu, called an emergency press conference to send out a message to detractors, warning them against messing with the family.

Reacting strongly to the language used by Sri Reddy, Naga Babu said, “I saw the way she criticised my brother. He only asked her to go to the police. What is wrong with that? He had appealed to his fans not to react to any criticism of him, but if someone does react, it is not his fault.”

“I am dead set against the casting couch and while I agree that there are a few people out there who give the industry a bad name, it is not right to point fingers at the entire film industry,” thundered Naga Babu, adding, “Instead of blaming the industry, why don’t you go to the police and file a complaint with proof?”

Urging patience, he said, “The industry has already responded by announcing that they are going to form a CASH (Committee Against Sexual Harassment). But, it cannot happen overnight, can it?”

Naga Babu said the industry had become a soft target. “If the industry was not a good place, I would not have encouraged my daughter to become a part of it,” he said.

He also clarified that there is no free membership to the Movie Artistes Association (MAA). “We support the members of the MAA and non-members, too. We can request the producer to give opportunities to Telugu artistes, but we can’t force them. In India, any person can work anywhere. It is one of the constitutional rights and we can’t prevent it,” he stated.

Naga Babu also expressed concern that the movement had now been completely sidetracked. “You started a movement with good intentions, but now it has been sidetracked owing to personal accusations and political intervention,” he said.

To those targeting his family, he said, “The Mega family has become a soft target for everyone. Just because you have a mobile phone and talk to the media, we will not tolerate it. Why are you getting personal? We won’t sit silently. I warn all those against our family,” said Naga Babu sternly.

Further, he asserted, “He (Pawan Kalyan) is the No. 1 actor and can easily get crores if he does films, instead he wants to serve the people. He already has a thousand problems to take care of and there is no need for one more.”

Stop Bullying
The Mega family’s double standards are astounding. While Naga Babu says he can’t tolerate anything said about his family, is it ok for Pawan Kalyan fans to unleash a verbal attack on Sri Reddy? The language used was disgusting.

The Mega family has an extremely low threshold for criticism. This newspaper can list many instances of their appalling behaviour.

If Chiranjeevi’s films are given a poor rating, an army of fans send vulgar, nasty emails.

Our photographer was ruthlessly beaten for trying to get a picture of Chiranjeevi’s daughter’s engagement.

Pawan Kalyan sat on a huge dharna in front of our office protesting against a news item written about him in the newspaper.

And when it comes to addressing the media, they choose the least famous member of the family to do the needful.
