Watch: Man surprises girlfriend by flashing proposal on Times Square billboard
A New York man has just set the bar for grand proposals a notch higher by proposing to his girlfriend using a billboard in Times Square. AJ Hall, a 29-year-old TV producer decided to pop the big question to his girlfriend Nicole Pagano, 29, in a spectacular way after realising that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
The elaborate plan involved setting up a fake date night and even getting Nicole’s boss to ask her to check a billboard ‘ad assignment’. When the couple finally arrived at Times Square for the 9:15 pm screening, instead of an ad full of logos and articles, the billboard began displaying images of New York City landmarks with phrases like ‘We fell in love’ and ‘Are you ready?’ Then suddenly a photo of AJ appears holding a sign reading ‘Marry me’ and AJ himself goes down on one knee with a ring to propose.
The video shows Nicole’s jaw drop in surprise before she screams and tearfully accepts the proposal.
