The sexist remarks passed by Hardik Pandya during a recent episode of chat show Koffee with Karan, have shocked Subhash Pandya, trustee of MK High School where both Hardik and older brother Krunal studied.
In a telephonic conversation with Deccan Chronicle Subhash Pandya (no relation of his) said, “I was terribly shocked watching our school boy passing some vulgar remarks against women. He studied in our school for a year or so and has not even passed the SSC. He used to skip the school on many days. We were forced to call his father Himanshu and tell him that as he was playing cricket at the Polo ground, he was not coming to class, so we had to scold him.”
Adding that Hardik’s present hair style too would not have been tolerated in school Subhash felt, “Cricket has brought a lot of money. If they are not nurtured properly, this is bound to happen.”
“Now Hardik Pandya and his family have both apologised for the incident, I think the chapter should end here. But I can tell you, we are not happy with his behaviour,” he said.
Krunal Pandya and his younger brother Hardik studied in the same co-educational school in Baroda. “Krunal was and is wiser than Hardik. He is a decent man and we never had any complaints against him,” he recalled.
