Video: Indian Air Force breaks gender stereotypes with a sarcastic ad

The video is a first-person monologue about how society thinks certain tasks cannot be taken up by women

Gender equality has been a long standing issue across the world and while it may be lesser abroad, it is a lot more in India. The defence forces are a place known to be only for males in the country and not many females are seen because most often they aren’t encouraged even if they have an interest in it.

The Indian Air Force recently released an advertisement that had a clear message for the whole country because it addressed gender stereotyping in its most common form. The first-person monologue by a woman mocks the beliefs of people that women cant face bombs and missiles and all the other tasks by the air force because she is a ‘woman’.

The video is now going viral with over 30,000 views and gives quite a clear message to society through mockery.
