There are so many crazy trends out there that are taking the Internet by storm. Take this for instance, finding a perfect spot to simply strike a pose is so passé. So, some Instagram users today are taking belfies (a selfie of a person’s buttocks) to the next level by taking a photo of their naked bum at a famous place.
The Instagram handle @cheekyexploits has almost 192k followers and has people sharing such photos clicked at places like Spain, Paris, Salcombe in England, Blue Mountains in Australia, Germany and more. There are also captions such as ‘diving butt’, ‘strolling butt’, ‘beach butt’, ‘mountain butt’, ‘ice butt’, and so on, based on the place the person is and what they are doing. This new travel trend may be catching up, but how appropriate is it for tourists to strip down in a foreign land?

Another bizarre fitness trend doing the rounds is BeerYoga, where people do their stretches while having beer. “BeerYoga is the marriage of two great loves — beer and yoga. Both are centuries-old therapies for body, mind and soul. The joy of drinking beer and the mindfulness of yoga complement each other, and make for an energising experience,” write Jhula and Emily, BeerYoga instructors from Germany on their website Bieryoga.de. A trend that first began in Berlin, Germany, BeerYoga is now been practiced by several people in other parts of the world. The Mint Yoga Studio in the US goes so far as to write, “Sometimes you need yoga, sometimes you need a beer. Sometimes you need both!” on their Instagram page. However, mixing yoga and beer may not be a good idea say many others.
Even as trends from last year such as fingermouthing (where you dangle your fingers in front of your mouth in your selfie), thigh gaps and abcracks are still being followed, another trend called ‘Bambi Pose’ is taking over Instagram. Women kneel down on the floor with their thighs over their calves, most likely wearing a bikini. Well, the world is a crazy place
